The Knitty Ditty

I knit. A lot! Knitting makes me very happy.
This isn't all about knitting. It's sometimes about my life too. Yay!

For the foreseeable future, when I sit down to watch films, I’ll be knitting a huge garter stitch blanket out of the cream yarn I bought for no reason but I have a lot of!
Once it’s done, I’ll pick up and knit a border! And it’ll be comfy! And boring, but requires absolutely no concentration and that’s nice! :)

I’m becoming increasingly addicted to sock knitting. I made my first pair this week and already I just want to make more. I’m even thinking of ways to modify the pattern that I used and make all different socks with charts and stuff!
I will make all the socks!

Finished!
I actually really like the second one (on the left)!
It is just as loose as the first, but the heel and toe are just better!
I’m proud of my first pair of socks! :)

I don’t have SSS!!!

Second Sock Syndrome, as some of you know is a common issue amongst the knitting community. I assumed I’d have it because I’m just so incredibly lazy sometimes, but I started knitting sock 2 this afternoon and I’m about to turn the heel and everything! I’ve done the instep and whatnot! (Top down socks are my thing I guess (Not that I’ve ever tried toe up))! I’m really happy because it means that providing Mackenzie is a happy little bean tomorrow I will have a warm snuggly large pair of handmade socks all for myself! Then I can pop this little sock shaped bubble and get back to work! These cushion covers won’t knit themselves!

I made a real life sock guys!
It’s a bit big and lumpy and the colours aren’t as nice as they look in the picture, but it’s my first ever real sock with real shaping so I’m chuffed!
I’m actually excited to make the other one tomorrow because I enjoy socks. Probably more than a person should.

I think its safe to say that I love socks. And now I’ve discovered that I can actually knit them, so god help everyone at Christmas!

Patterns published in magazines should be checked, then checked again for errors!
If you tell me to cast on 27 stitches, don’t give me a pattern for 26!

Guess I thought wrong!

I seem to be still niiave in the ways of the Internet. One would assume that the knitting tag would be safe from most Internet profanities. Not the case apparently!
Innocently I was scrolling through the knitting tag loe and behold, Zac Effron’s sad, sorry looking peen just staring at me. This has nothing to do with knitting, unless of course we refer to the item in his hand which does happen to look like some sort of knitted garment.
To the person who insists on posting such filth, jump off a tall building please. I would be eternally greatful if your pathetic little life was quelled!

In other knitting related news, I have been working on more goodies for customers and also I’ve knitted a few more squares for the Art Of Knitting magazine throw, which is looking lovely so far! Less than 30 issues to go!

Would this be terribly wrong?

Just after Mackenzie was born, we were given this hand knitted blanket made out of pure wool. It wasn’t knitted for us, but for the baby of the person who gave it to us.

We’ve never used it. Ever. Would it be really wrong to frog it and make something that I may actually use?

I just tried knitting continental.

It was like my hands and my brain were at war and the needles were the poor country in the middle that didn’t want a part of it but was force to pick sides.

Best thing Chris has ever said to me?

We’ll catch up on Supernatural. I want to know what happened to Bobby, but I’m more worried that I can’t remember the first episode!

THE.FIRST.EPISODE. This means we’ll watch the latest series, then GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING!!!

The Beginning!!!

BABY WINCHESTERS!!!

Also, the postman brought me several balls of yarn squished into one box today. I was a happy, just awoken, rather bedraggled Leonie!

And guys, I am actually going to swatch this yarn because I’ve never used it before…

ALSO, Chris’ friend Diane from work is an avid knitter, I did not know this, but she said today that when she has finished a project, she’ll pass along her spare yarn to me! I love Diane. I have never met Diane, but I love her already! :D
