Plan Of Action
I have a family to take care of, a small baby, a fiancé who works hard all week to bring home a measly salary and a government who would rather give money to people who literally just have children so they don’t have to work. I can’t go out to work due to my post natal depression/PTSD, which I’m working through slowly but surely. Plus childcare is extortionate nowadays! I...

Its official, we're broke.
I have no choice but to start selling my knitting.  I wanted to anyway, but now it’s coming from desperation more than anything. Turns out David Cameron has decided to attack the poorest of households with his most recent budget cuts which literally means we have more money going out than coming in each month.  I never wanted to sell my knits to make money, per say, just to make people...

30 Days Of Knitting - Day 22
Day 22 - Have you ever stricken someone off your to-knit-for list because they didn’t appreciate/take care of your last knitted gift to them? Not yet, thankfully! I’ve only knitted a few gifts so far, and everyone has appreciated them as far as I’m aware! I did knit a hat for my little sister, but it was an eyelet pattern and not “her”. She is a raving lesbian though...

So my son is crazy for Cbeebies...
He loves In The Night Garden, if you don’t know it, YouTube it, but do not take any hallucinogenic drugs before hand. There’s a character, Iggle Piggle who carries a red blanket. I am going to make a red blanket for Mackenzie to cuddle when he watches it! It’s more of a stash buster than anything else though! I have copious amounts of red yarn that I bought when I made a huge...

30 Days Of Knitting - Day 21
Day 21: Do you knit gifts for friends and family for the holidays or birthdays? I haven’t as of yet, but in previous years I didn’t take knitting so seriously! I have learned a hell of a lot more since last Christmas so probably this Christmas! Maybe everyone will get socks! ;)

30 Days Of Knitting - Day 20
DAY 20: DO YOU KNIT IN PUBLIC? WAS ANYONE OFFENDED/INCREDIBLY HAPPY/CURIOUS THAT YOU WERE DOING SO? I don’t! Mainly because I don’t go anywhere that allows me to sit and knit! I’ve been contemplating taking my knitting to the cinema a few times but I haven’t yet! :)

30 Days Of Knitting. - Day 19
Day 19: Do you watch movies and/or listen to podcasts while knitting? What are your favorite things to knit to? I watch TV usually! We watch a lot of american TV so we usually marathon shows so I have plenty of knitting time!  If I’m using a pattern and can’t memorise it, Chris will play on the PS3 and I’ll knit away!  As long as Mackenzie permits it, of course!

I'm thinking of knitting a changing bag!
The crappy one we bought when Mackenzie was first born is on it’s last legs and we can’t really afford to go and buy a new one! So I’m contemplating knitting a temporary one to tide us over and keep baby bums clean and fresh all day. I may have to spend a bit of money on the yarn though… But the way I see it, I can spend £10 on yarn and have a bag that won’t fall...

I'm stuck!
At the end of May, I’m off to London for the day for the MCM expo. I physically cannot sit in a car for a total of 7 hours with nothing to knit but all my WIPs need patterns, and car sickness is a mega issue with me.  What is a gal to do in this situation? Hmm… Replies on the back of a postcard! ;)

30 Days of Knitting - Day 18
Day 18: Do you knit English or Continental? English! I’m a thrower and proud! That’s the way my mum taught me and I never thought to learn continental! I may in the future, but for the time being I’m happy knitting English! :)

I'm feeling good!
After having a whole panic about our terrifying financial situation earlier, I’ve had 2 friends ask if they can buy knitted stuff off me! One friend wants baby clothes and the other, my lifelong bestest buddy wants me to knit him booties… For his cats! I’d think it a daft request if he wasn’t my bestest friend!!! The baby clothes friend has a lot of other friends with...

30 Days of Knitting - Day 17
Day 17: Have you ever had a project that you loved become ruined? What’s the story behind it? Not yet, thankfully! I’m not sure how the gifts I’ve made are now, but I’m sure the receivers are taking care of them! :)

30 Days Of Knitting. Day 16
DAY 16: HAVE YOU EVER HAD A KNITTING RELATED INJURY? Many a time I have stabbed the squishy bit under my thumb with my 3.25mm needles… I have had blisters and various other lesions because of it. I also once pulled a nail out because my needle got caught underneath… I am the clumsiest person ever so knitting always comes with injuries!

30 Days of Knitting - Day 15 (Halfway, yippee!)
Day 15: What was your least favourite pattern and why? I don’t really have ones I don’t like! I don’t knit it if I don’t like it. There are ones that I’ve looked at and decided I don’t have the patience for, but I still like them! :)

30 Days Of Knitting - Day 14
Day 14: What’s the worst yarn/fiber that you’ve worked with and why? I bought this crazy cheap acrylic yarn from my local Shaws which was called Rebecca something or other. 75p a ball so I bought a couple to practice my purling with… Worst mistake ever! It was scratchy and made that horrible noise like chewing cotton wool… YCH Y FI!!! But I was the noobiest of noobs so it...

Just 32 rows left of this baby blanket, or 3,264 stitches! But I’d prefer rows! 2 more cables and the top of the border! (and 3 more rows) I’m so excited! I may even make a little matching baby hat as there’s no sign of the little bean yet!

30 Days Of Knitting - Day 13
DAY 13: DO YOU HAVE YARN THAT YOU LOVE BUT CAN’T FIND A PROJECT FOR? Yes. I have 10 balls of sirdar fresco yarn that have no purpose! It looks lovely but what am I going to do with it?!

Chris’ Auntie’s baba is due today not next week like I though! Oh poo! After being pregnant myself, I’d never wish anyone to be overdue, but please Michelle, keep bean in for a day longer at least!!!

Am I the only one who frogs their swatches instead of breaking them off? I hate wasting yarn so I just write down the gauge and happy days! On another note, am I the only person on the planet who thinks Mr Darcy was a complete douche and not a fictional character worthy of swooning over? He’s a lousy pretend human being!!

30 Days Of Knitting. - Day 11
DAY 11: DO YOU HAVE A “KNITTER HERO” OR SOMEONE THAT IS JUST WAY TOO AWESOME FOR THEIR OWN GOOD? DO SHARE! My Nan, Olive! She sadly passed away, but she’s my ultimate knitting heroine! She taught my grandma, who taught my mum, who taught me! And one day, if he sits still long enough, I’ll teach Mackenzie! My nan was amazing! You guys would have loved her! :D

30 Days Of Knitting - Day 10
Day 10: Do you have a favorite pattern or designer? No and no! I haven’t really worked from many patterns, and the ones I have worked from haven’t been from a specific designer as such! Although a lot of designers on Ravelry are amazing. I need to look more! :)

30 Days Of Knitting - Day 9
Day 9: what fiber or yarn do you love working with? It varies! I love wool/acrylic blends because I’m too stingy with my limited finances to buy 100% wool or them posh yarns! My favourite yarn brand at the moment Stylecraft! The Special range is so wonderfully soft and inexpensive! :D

30 Days Of Knitting - Day 8
DAY 8: WHAT’S YOUR MOST CHALLENGING PROJECT? Probably the Summer Queen shawl from Knits For Nerds. It’s not a particularly complicated pattern but it requires some counting and with a crazy 8 month old who wants nothing but to walk around without his walker so he keeps letting go of whatever is holding him up so he ends up falling over and bumping his bum and in turn crying, constantly, I...

30 Days Of Knitting - Day 7
DAY 7: YOUR LEAST FAVORITE? I don’t have a least favourite! I love all my projects no matter how infuriating or boring or awfully made because I did make them! I’m not the most creative person, so when I knit something, regardless of how it looks, it came from me and it’ll hold a special place in my heart! CHEEEEEEEEEEESE!!!!!

30 Days Of Knitting. Day 6
DAY 6: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PIECE THAT YOU’VE KNIT? That’s between the patchwork blanket and the cable scarf with pockets! The blanket took me a lot longer to make because I just happened to give birth during the construction but it is something that Mackenzie loves already! The scarf was a gift for my mum. It was my first attempt at cabling so it’s also important to me! And it...
